MCA Documents: Job Failed

circle-info

⚠️ Important Jurisphere is currently integrated only with MCA V3. MCA had initially announced July as the deadline for migrating all filings from V2 to V3, but the migration is still in progress. Access to V2 APIs has already been revoked, which means:

  • V2 previously hosted financial documents.

  • V3 hosts all other filings.

  • Some newer companies may already have financials available in V3.

  • If financials are missing, they can only be downloaded manually from the MCA website.

Sometimes when you start an MCA Documents task, you may see a failure notification (a red ❗ icon or error message) indicating that the MCA job failed for a company search or document download.

Possible Causes

  1. Invalid or incorrect CIN / company details If the CIN or company name is entered incorrectly, the system cannot fetch the records from MCA.

  2. MCA portal restrictions The MCA system may temporarily block or throttle requests if there are too many queries in a short time, leading to job failure.

  3. Unavailable filings or missing documents If the company has not filed certain documents (e.g., annual returns, charge documents), the request may return empty or error out.

  4. V2 vs V3 migration issue MCA is in the process of migrating filings from V2 to V3. Since Jurisphere connects only to V3:

    • Financials not yet migrated will not be retrievable.

    • These will need to be manually downloaded from MCA’s website.

  5. Corrupted or incomplete document on MCA portal Occasionally, documents hosted on MCA may themselves be corrupted or incomplete, which prevents proper retrieval.

  6. Backend / server hiccups Temporary system issues on either the MCA side or Jurisphere’s processing queue can cause the job to fail.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Verify company details

    • Double-check the CIN or company name entered.

    • Ensure it matches the MCA master data exactly.

  2. Check if the filing is available in V3

    • Remember that Jurisphere can only fetch filings available in MCA V3.

    • Financials missing on V3 must be downloaded manually from the MCA portal.

  3. Retry after a short interval

    • If MCA’s portal is down or throttling requests, wait a few minutes and try again.

  4. Check document availability

    • Some filings may not be available for download if they were never uploaded by the company.

    • Try with another filing to confirm whether the issue is file-specific.

  5. Contact support

    • If the error persists across multiple companies or filings, reach out via the in-app support channel or on your customer support group. For priority support, our team will assist you in procuring the required documents directly over email.
